Cake and Orla Kiely paper embroidery

I made a lemon and poppy seed cake with cream cheese icing and blueberries to go with tonight’s film, Luis Buñuel’s The Diary of a Chambermaid from 1946. Last night we watched The Trial from 1962. It’s my favourite Anthony Perkins film, apart from Psycho of course.A while back I cut out the perforated sheets out of my Orla Kiely notebook and embroidered one of them. Aqua and indigo is one of my favourite colour combinations. It will probably end up in my art journal. I feel like I’m mainly dividing my time between embroidering, baking, and reading at the moment. Over the last two weeks I’ve read Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk, Down Among the Dead Men: A Year in the Life of a Mortuary Technician by Michelle Williams, and Let’s Go Play at the Adams’ by Mendal Johnson. Now I’m in the middle of 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and it’s very difficult to put down.
